5 Teas That Will Help with a Long Stay at Home

Four months into the first global pandemic that most of us have ever faced, the circumstances of our day-to-day lives are either temporarily or permanently changed. The world is still sheltering in place due to the dangers and ripple effects of COVID-19, and even as we start to transition back to our previous routines, many may be experiencing lasting lifestyle shifts. With this lack of movement comes an entirely new routine based on staying at home pretty much 24 hours a day, which, while difficult, could also be a blessing in disguise for those of us who are now forced to practice mindfulness

Many of us have never spent so much time confined at home before and find it extremely limiting – taxing on our physical health and wellbeing, and of course, exacerbating anxiety and other mental health issues. These common issues stem from a deviation from our regular routines, lack of movement, change in personal and professional circumstances, and shift in location and access to food and other items.

The good news is that you are not alone; this is an event that is touching the entire world. The team at Heavenly Tea Leaves strongly believes in supporting our community and helping alleviate the struggles we all share, especially when it comes to staying healthy. We also believe that tea is one of the many tools that can help get us through this period. Like diet, exercise, meditation, and other wellbeing tools, loose leaf tea is a clean and safe beverage we can all incorporate into our daily lives in order to feel more in control of our bodies and minds. Because each tea contains various elements that react differently with our bodies, and because we all have different needs at this time, we’ve put together a list of the five essential teas for getting you through this time, no matter what your day may bring:

Immunity

The most essential and shared need that we all have, especially during a global pandemic, is immunity. A delicious concoction that supports your body’s natural ability to fight off illness is Ginger Lemon Green tea, a fully organic blend from Heavenly Tea Leaves. A green tea base alone provides dozens of potential health benefits, from a healthy heart, body weight, blood sugar, and even reduced cancer risk. Ginger and lemon, of course, are two ingredients that have also been shown to help boost the body’s defenses; naturally, lemon and vitamin C go hand in hand. Ginger, with its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties, also adds a zesty kick to your cup, incentivizing you to drink it day after day!

Stomach Settlers

The bottom line is that when your daily routine changes, it’s tough to stay regular. Our digestive systems can be extremely sensitive to outside changes, and certainly, many of us are experiencing dietary changes based on access, location, budget, and other factors. Pu’er Tuo Cha comes in the form of fermented pressed tea cakes and contains naturally occurring probiotics – what we are all looking for to promote a healthy gut – as well as antioxidants and a distinct, robust taste. A bonus is that you can re-steep the same tea leaves multiple times, saving you time and allowing you to get more for less. What’s not to love?

Relaxation and Sleep

Our greatest solution to anxiety in the time of coronavirus is a Heavenly Tea Leaves blend aptly titled Sleep. Take R&R to new heights (and tastes) with this chamomile-based elixir that yields a super-velvety texture and punchy, vaguely minty flavor.  Calm your body in a stressful time, or just before bed, thanks to ingredients like rosehips, lemongrass, and valerian root, which not only provide a beautiful aroma but also contain compounds shown to reduce anxiety and promote a restful night. Unwinding has never tasted this good!

Energy Surge

Often, staying sedentary for a long period of time renders us dull and exhausted. In other words, the less we move, the less we can move. When we have no choice but to limit our movement, a tea with the natural power to invigorate us is just what the doctor ordered, which is where Zen Super Green comes in. This quality blend from Japan is a rare find since it combines high-grade sencha and matcha teas, resulting in a strong, vegetal taste and double the green tea nutrition. With naturally occurring caffeine, this blend is a safe, soothing, and powerful pick-me-up for when you’re feeling sluggish.

Mood Balancing

Turmeric Bliss is a blend meant to balance your mood through the use of sweet and spicy components that cover various areas of nutrition and encourage a state of inner peace. Ingredients like lavender, hibiscus, and rose have been shown to promote a sense of calm in the body and naturally add a pleasant floral aroma, while heavy hitters like organic cloves and orange peel provide spice and zest to bring your digestive system to life. Treat yourself to a cup of this blend during the day to keep you going while keeping your stress at bay!

Although many places of business and leisure are starting to reopen, there is no doubt that keeping our bodies and minds healthy is important going forward, whether we plan to continue working from home or returning to pre-COVID habits, activities, and routines. This forced pause has and will continue to be an opportunity for introspection and for improving and enriching our daily choices, including how we treat our bodies. By welcoming and embracing loose leaf tea, we’re one step ahead.

Hello,
These sound interesting but I have a question. Of these 5, are some of them caffeine free? I don’t recognize all the teas in these blends. I’m assuming the relaxation and sleep and mood balancing are caffeine free?
