Pu-erh Shu Tea Cake

$39.99

Pu-erh tea, otherwise known as dark tea, is an ancient form of tea usually pressed into cakes. Traditionally, this was done as a preservation method for teas traveling long and far. The flavors of Pu-erh are known to improve with age by way of fermentation. There are two main categories of Pu-erh tea, ripe (shu) and raw (sheng). Our Pu-erh Shu is made from leaves grown at 1200 meters, where the fermentation process has been accelerated by way of "wet-piling" the leaves. This Pu-erh Shu was produced in 2006.

smooth

I am not really sure how to brew this tea, there are no instructions, so I broke a piece off the cake and put it in the tea strainer and steeped it for 3 minutes.. I hope that was right.. resulting tea was mild and smooth, refreshing.
